Inside and Outside

“Don’t read blogs all day – write your own”, he said and here I am.
I hope to keep a diary here of what happens at home, in the garden and wherever else we might be.

This blog will be in English, so my non-German friends and families will be able to read it too.

Today was the usual mixture of reading, housekeeping and being a baby-carrier.
Also, we (that is, Tarini) made curd, sweet rice and rhubard apple crisp (I froze some rhubard in June).

How to make curd

You need:
Milk (ours was on sale)
A pot
A (cheese)cloth
Lemon juice or vinegar
Something to stir with

Milk and a pot

Put the milk in a pot

Bring to a boil, stir and add the lemon juice/vinegar until little white clots form (curd). Keep stirring/adding until you have only whey and curd

Strain the curd through a cheesecloth (and keep the whey to use in baking, drinking or whatever) and let the whey drop out for a while

Place the cheesecloth with the curd under something heavy so that the rest of the whey is being squeezed out
